Active military personnel who qualified for and received a military pilot’s license were awarded the Pilot’s Badge (not authorized without the military license – the man could fly with a civilian license, but did not receive the badge). This early tomback example is spectacular, with a super crisp strike retaining excellent details! The nickel/silver finish has toned very nicely over the years. The highlights of the eagle’s feathers are just a bit darker overall than the rest of the badge, giving it a very handsome appearance. The unmarked reverse of the badge is excellent as well, with fairly rounded rivet heads. The needle pin is slightly bent. The reverse is well marked with the manufacturer´s name and location "C.E. Junker, Berlin SW". A great example that would be hard to upgrade!
